About the Author

Robert Dailey III grew up in a law enforcement family in Jackson, Tennessee and joined the Jackson Police Department in 1974 as a patrolman. During his career as a police officer, he worked on undercover narcotics details, was an original member of the JPD SWAT team and received awards for life saving and other accomplishments on the job.

Dailey holds a degree from Union University in Jackson. where he served on the Board of Trustees before he left the city to follow his business career in 1998. He is currently the President of Intex, Inc. and lives with his wife Cindy just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

Dailey’s fascination with the colorful exploits of his father, Deputy Chief (retired) Robert Dailey, Jr. and his interest in the ironies of the Cox- Jackson-Williams murder cases led him to write Jackson, his first literary work. His own experiences as a police officer provide special insight into the private life of law enforcement as he tells the story of the killings and of his father’s 34-year career behind a badge.
